We actively recommend parents and employers to discuss all aspects of the vacancy including finances, job duties, holiday entitlement, and special circumstances with the family prior to commencement of employment. Having all business matters agreed upon helps ensure a successful working relationship.

Several factors go into deciding your nanny's salary: years of experience, number of children under their care, job duties, and hours to be worked. When calculating salary, be sure to consider factors such as overtime pay, holiday pay, etc. When a placement has been made it is highly recommended that a work agreement is formed between the family and the nanny. This agreement should include the following:

Work Schedule (days/hrs) Net Salary
Vacation/Sick Days Child Care Duties Housekeeping Duties

** Salaries for nannies placed in the UK or abroad can vary significantly, ranging from £600 to over £1500 net per week. This variation is largely influenced by several factors, including the specific requirements and responsibilities of the position, as well as the qualifications and experience level of the nanny. For example, nannies with specialized skills, SEND or extensive experience may command even higher salaries. Additionally, the cost of living in the any country and the overall demand for childcare professionals can also impact salary levels. Each placement is unique, and it’s essential to consider all these factors when determining the levels of compensation for nannies, governesses, maternity nurses or other child care staff working overseas.
